Description

The Team

The UK Financial Control team is responsible for ensuring that financial processes, procedures and controls are appropriate, adequate, robust, scaleable and communicated to all relevant stakeholders; with the intention of maintaining the financial hygiene of and safeguarding the assets of the business, ensuring that it can comply with all relevant regulatory reporting, deliver against its non-financial targets and contribute positively to the evolution of the firm's culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and upload month-end journals, ensuring financial integrity and adherence to deadlines.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining the month-end close process for the UK.

  • Analyse pertinent sections of the firm's accounts, providing insightful commentary against comparatives.

  • Develop and maintain accurate fixed asset & prepayment registers.

  • Ensure timely completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prompt resolution of differences.

  • Establish an efficient process for gathering information for budgets and forecasts.

  • Contribute to cash flow forecast production using month-end close and budget/forecast processes.

  • Review and enhance existing processes and controls for optimal day-to-day financial operations.

  • Assist in developing and implementing current and relevant financial policies.

  • Contribute to embedding a risk management process.

  • Assist in accurate and timely completion of statutory reporting.

  • Liaise with auditors during interim and final audit processes.

  • Collaborate with the Tax team for accurate submissions to relevant authorities.

  • Complete ONS and other regulatory reporting.

  • Handle relevant ad hoc finance queries as needed.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant —ACA, ACCA, CIMA with a few years PQE.
  • Experience of 3E is desirable.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Previously having worked within professional services, law firm experience desirable.
  • Must be self-motivated, highly organised, accurate, with strong attention to detail and be able to work with minimal supervision.
