OVERVIEW This is an exciting pitching role in
the London office of one of the world's most successful law firms.
Kirkland & Ellis is seeking a Pitch Specialist to join the
Business Development (BD) Department in our growing London office,
where you will be focused on the execution and support of new business
development in our Riyadh office as the firm. Kirkland launched its
Riyadh office in January 2024 and the team 'on the ground' are working
hard to attract new clients, responding to various RFPs and pitches
from both government portals, alongside requests from personal relationships.
You will add value at each stage of the process, from intelligence
gathering to pitch execution and follow up. You will be working in
collaboration with our London Pitch Manager, Pitch Specialist and
Coordinator and the wider Riyadh team, comprising colleagues in Riyadh
and across the U.S. as well as communicating and collaborating with a
global team of approximately 150 diverse problem-solvers and advisers
dedicated to the broader BD, marketing and communications efforts of
the Firm.
We are looking for a highly organized self-starter with good
judgement, strong attention to detail, a real passion for pitching,
strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships
among lawyers and staff to achieve desired results.
It is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding and collaborative
team providing essential support for new and ongoing business
opportunities in our Riyadh office from London.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive
and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)
Take complete ownership of Riyadh pitch opportunities, championing
best practices and working with our existing Riyadh and London team
to ensure all opportunities are correctly managed.
Work directly with partners to create bespoke materials and unique
and persuasive content, ensuring appropriate engagement of key
stakeholders across our international offices.
Work directly with partners to ensure client presentations are
visually appealing and up-to-date with the latest information.
Leverage intelligence gathered from databases (Mergermarket,
Preqin, Debtwire, PitchBook), coupled with a thorough understanding
of the Firm's business, to prepare thoughtful materials for partner
meetings with existing/prospective clients.
Ensure all work produced is logged correctly in relevant internal
databases and base pitching documents are kept up to date with the
latest information (deals, awards, directories, lawyer numbers etc.).
Track results in internal databases, sharing outcomes with the teams.
Juggle tight deadlines and manage expectations; evaluate projects
and prioritize effectively.
Provide ad hoc support on other pitche activities as and
when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Work Experience, Skills
Proven pitching experience in a law firm, bank or other
professional services firm.
A Bachelor's degree is required.
Excellent client service orientation and listening skills, with
comfort interacting with key Business Development and senior Firm personnel.
Proven ability to organize and manage a diverse range of projects,
prioritizing multiple tasks with competing deadlines (at times in
high-pressure situations).
Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to look at a document
and spot conflicting pieces of information on the same topic.
Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate meaningful team and
stakeholder relationships.
Diplomacy, intellectual curiosity and a positive attitude/sense of
humor is preferred.
Excellent PowerPoint skills and a creative approach to presenting materials.
Technologies/Software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, particularly an
expertise with Word, is required.
Experience using Mergermarket, Preqin, Debtwire, PitchBook, etc.
to support research.
