The Role
As an AI and ML Data Scientist you will develop and maintain advanced
machine learning models, including large language models and
traditional ML and deep learning models. This role demands a balance
of technical expertise and collaborative skills, especially in
deploying and optimising models within the Azure cloud environment.
Additionally, your
responsibilities will include contributing to the development,
maintenance, and deployment of AI products, ensuring they are
effectively integrated and operate smoothly within our technical infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, deploy, and fine-tune large language models and
traditional machine learning and deep learning models.
Collaborate closely with the data scientists in the team,
enhancing their projects with machine learning solutions.
Collaborate with the Strategy team in building and maintaining
relevant data products.
Implement and manage machine learning solutions within Azure,
focusing on services like Azure Synapse Analytics and AI Builder, in
addition to full custom ML pipelines.
Incorporate DevOps and MLOps practices to streamline the
transition from model development to production.
Apply data visualisation tools to interpret model outputs and
communicate insights effectively.
Establish model monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure
sustained performance.
Ensure adherence to ethical AI principles and implement bias
detection and mitigation strategies.
Skills/Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering,
Mathematics, or a related field.
Experience in large language models, machine learning, and deep learning.
Proficiency in Python, machine learning libraries, and Azure cloud
services (or similar providers).
Expertise in data visualisation and interpretation using tools
like PowerBI and Python libraries, such as Matplotlib and Seaborn.
Familiarity with DevOps, MLOps, and version control systems like Git.
Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams, including
UX/UI designers and product managers.
Knowledge of model monitoring, evaluation, and automated machine
learning (AutoML).
Understanding of ethical AI practices and techniques for bias mitigation.
Experience with reinforcement learning and other advanced machine
learning techniques.
Strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative skills.
Experience working in a commercial environment or a similar
delivery-focused setting, such as government. We are looking for
candidates who have experience of applying their knowledge of
machine learning to real-world problems.
