Our Work, Health and Safety (WHS) law practice group is recognised as one of the leading teams in Australia. Demand on our services has created an opportunity for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join the team. The role will work closely with both local and national partners to build out the practice and will also take the lead on a range of work. The team is involved in the full range of work, health and safety law matters for a diverse client base across a range of industries. We are ideally looking for someone part-time (3 or 4 days per week). The key responsibilities and requirements for this role are as follows:

Responsibilities

  • Providing advice regarding WHS legal compliance matters
  • Responding to WHS incidents and providing advice concerning exercise of WHS regulatory powers
  • Advising regarding gap analysis of WHS management systems
  • Representing clients in WHS litigation
  • Assisting with presentations, publications and all business development related initiatives

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years PQE gained within a reputable Employment or WHS practice
  • Outstanding written, drafting and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional client liaison skills
  • Strong time management & organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities.
