The role

Our National Finance team are valued advisors to the firm and are key players in achieving the firm's strategic business and financial goals providing support across a number of core Finance functions.

We currently have an opportunity for a Finance Officer (Billing) to join our Financial Operations team on a full time basis in either our Sydney or Brisbane office. This is a unique opportunity to add value in a high performing well-respected team in a collaborative and supportive environment. Reporting to the Financial Systems and Operations Manager this role will be responsible for providing high quality billing service and support to the business encompassing the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Assist legal staff and Partners with resolving all types of billing queries, including disbursement adjustments, bill amendments, bill consolidation, split bills, rates, payors and bill reversals.
  • Provide assistance, guidance and support on day-to-day use of the firm's practice management system.
  • Perform induction training, prepare/maintain guides and provide support to users relating to billing and practice management system process queries.
  • Oversee monthly billing process and support Partners with special key and strategic client accounts including ensuring compliance with special client requirements.
  • Manage client and matter information in the practice management system.
  • Set up and amend special rates on clients and matter.
  • Perform monthly bill submissions via e-billing platforms.
  • Follow up un-posted bills in the practice management system and manage accordingly.
  • Prepare and assist with maintaining up-to-date manuals and client guides for special client requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and managing any queries or discrepancies as required.

Requirements

  • Experience in a professional services environment is desirable.
  • Excellent customer-service and communication skills with ability to communicate with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong numerical ability and problem solving abilities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Suite; Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Experience using Aderant Expert or equivalent billing system within professional services environment would be advantageous.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Undergraduate qualification in Commerce or a business related discipline is preferred
