Mid-Level Associate - Banking & Corporate (Ottawa)

Our banking and corporate team in Ottawa is highly regarded for its significant experience in a broad range of regional, national and international banking and finance matters and corporate and other transactions across the full spectrum of industries. We are well positioned to provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice on a range of complex banking, finance, and corporate matters and transactions, including project and acquisition finance, secured lending, debt and equity capital markets matters, mergers and acquisitions, private placements, venture capital transactions, and general commercial and corporate advisory matters.

We are currently seeking to add to the existing strength of our team by adding an associate with strong experience in banking, project finance, and other secured lending. Experience in advising on mergers and acquisitions (private and/or public), securities and corporate/debt finance, and general corporate/commercial transactions would be an asset. This presents an incredible opportunity to join a world-class group of professionals at an established Canadian law firm with an international legal practice, while working in a collegial and collaborative team that is both professionally and personally rewarding.

The ideal candidate will possess an LL.B or J.D degree and will also have:

  • 3-6 years of related experience in either a private practice or in-house setting;
  • exceptional client service, interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a confidence to take initiative;
  • demonstrated business acumen and a strong commercial understanding; and
  • strong personal and professional integrity and a hard-working and passionate approach.

While not required, bilingualism is viewed as an asset.
