Role Overview
Overall responsibility for the implementation of the firm's digital
marketing strategy & plans, in line
with the firm and department's marketing & business development
strategy and industry best practice.
Reports to: Diane Ribere, Digital Marketing &
Technology Lead
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Digital Marketing & Technology Lead,
relevant colleagues from Brand, Marketing & Sales (BMS), Partners,
other lawyers and internal clients as well as external suppliers, the
focus of the role is to fully exploit RPC's external digital channels
- in particular, the website and social media - to position the firm
to its target markets and facilitate business development at all
levels. Main areas of responsibilities include the following:
Take ownership of the continued integrity, quality and accuracy -
and in the longer term, optimisation and development - of a best in
class website both technically and content-wise, with processes in
place to ensure the ongoing currency and optimal impact of content,
and compliance with best practice and legal requirements
Support the Digital Marketing & Technology Lead in
implementing the next phase of content, design and feature
developments to the website, from user acceptance testing through to go-live
Working with the BMS team and relevant fee earners, develop and
implement appropriate digital marketing activity spanning organic
and advertised website and social media content in order to meet
business needs and develop the firm's brand
Responsible for the overall management and curation of RPC's main
social media accounts, ensuring quality and consistency of messages,
multimedia content and publishing activity
Maintain the analytics infrastructure for the firm's main digital
marketing channels, ensuring it provides valuable insights to inform
the ongoing optimisation process
Analyse and report (quarterly and on an ad hoc basis) on key
performance indicators across main digital channels, and react to
that information to improve digital performance
Act as "a voice of digital marketing" for BMS and the
firm at large, providing advice and training as required on website
content and layout, search engine optimisation, online campaigns,
advertising, social media presence and activity
Keep abreast of industry trends and technological advances,
ensuring personal knowledge and training are up to date and any
applicable developments are incorporated into digital marketing
processes and activities
Support the Digital Marketing & Technology Lead in managing
relationships with third party suppliers to ensure the ongoing
delivery of agreed services
Support the continuous improvement in service delivery and
productivity - adopting a data-driven approach to measuring impact,
following up on internal client satisfaction, and ensuring the
ongoing optimisation and documentation of processes as well as the
development of the digital marketing knowledge base
Secondary responsibility for planning and managing resources for
digital marketing activities, ensuring business continuity and
co-developing and reporting on the annual budget
Line management of a Digital Marketing Executive, ensuring her
continuous training and development
Core competencies:
Solid experience with a wide range of tools and platforms
(including Sitecore CMS or similar, LinkedIn, Twitter, Hootsuite,
Google Analytics, MOZ, etc.)
Confident and knowledgeable in advising on digital marketing best
practice (in particular, to optimise user experience and maximise
SEO and CRO) and adept at applying it
Proficient in working with multimedia, including video, podcast
and photo
Familiar with paid advertising (predominantly LinkedIn)
A team player, who is good at building relationships with people
at all levels
Process driven - able to follow established best practice and lead
by example but also to challenge and further develop
Solution focussed - able to take ownership of challenges and
develop robust recommendations to solve them, in collaboration with
other technical specialists, in search of cross-platform solutions
as necessary
Data driven - keen to consistently capture and analyse the data
from digital marketing activities to draw lessons for future
performance improvement
A real can-do attitude
Excellent attention to detail
Calmness when working under pressure and to tight deadlines
Experience within a legal or professional services environment a
distinct advantage
Experience of developing more junior team members desirable
Working conditions
Monday - Friday, 9.30am-5.30pm with flexibility to
start earlier or finish later if required
