Role Overview
Working within the Information Technology
Department, the IT Communications Manager (ITCM) will design and
deliver internal communications for strategic IT projects to support
our ambitious change programme and ensure that the firm is kept up
to date. This role will also assist the wider IT team with business
as usual communications to maintain consistency and quality in how
we communicate internally and externally where appropriate. The ITCM
will work very closely with our Brand, Marketing and Sales (BMS)
team, who own the firmwide communications programme and strategy, to
ensure that activities are coordinated and aligned.
Reports to: Business Relationship Manager (with a
dotted line to the Senior Change Manager)
Key responsibilities:
Support key stakeholders within IT and the Project
Management Office to create and deliver communication plans in
line with our ambitious change and modernisation programme
Work as the IT communications lead, shaping
consistent messaging and strategic communication plans across the
IT department
Work closely with the firm's PR and Communications
team to ensure IT communications are produced in line with our
central brand and style guidelines, and are coordinated and
aligned with our wider internal communications strategy, calendar
and programmes
Create communication strategies, plans
and campaigns to increase awareness of IT projects and initiatives
across the firm, and highlight our achievements
Create and manage an IT communication calendar, to provide
visibility of all activities related to projects, BAU work and
maintenance work
Position requirements:
Candidate must have at least three
years' experience writing internal
communications for either legal, corporate or professional
services organisation, ideally with a focus on technology
Concisely evaluate, write, produce and
deliver information, news and insights that are effective and
creative in educating the business (especially where some of the
audience may be less familiar with IT terminology and constructs
than the team working on the change project in question)
Understand how to motivate firm-wide
audiences to engage with and listen to priority IT communications
Strong ability to present concepts verbally
Strong attention to detail with high
expectations of themselves, the ability to manage deadlines and
delivery quality results
Excellent organisational and planning skills
Strategic thinker and content planner
Proficient in Information Technology and terminologies
Excellent networking skills and
motivated to work collaboratively with a variety of teams to
achieve success for the business overall
Excellent diplomacy, discretion and negotiation
skills to deal with colleagues, building trust with the rapport to
motivate others
Working conditions:
Employment: Full Time
Location: London
Hours: 09:30 to 17.30 on 35 hours a week
Use of telephone headset and sitting for extended periods of time
