RPC is a modern, progressive and commercially-oriented City legal services business. From our offices in the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore we provide advice to both UK and international clients.

What we do
Our practice spans a wide range of industry sectors and is broadly split into two discrete areas: insurance and corporates. Working on both contentious and non-contentious matters, our clients range from large multinationals to growth UK corporate firms and other professional practices, and include many household names .

Role overview

An exciting opportunity for a qualified lawyer, knowledge professional or journalist / copywriter ideally with employment law experience keen to move into a knowledge role, supporting our Employment team.

We have a growing central Knowledge team and the successful candidate will report into the Head of Knowledge but also work closely with others in the Knowledge team such as our Professional Support Lawyers (PSLs).

The role may be based in our London or Bristol office and we will also consider remote working. We will consider applicants requiring a range of part-time hours.

Qualifications & experience

For this role, we require the following:

  • A degree or equivalent in law, knowledge management / Information Science, journalism or related discipline.
  • Experience of working in a professional services or corporate environment.
  • Experience of working in employment law is desirable.
  • Experience of writing content such as articles, research reports, insights or thought leadership, for an external audience.
  • A commercial awareness and enthusiasm about business development, and the ability to digest, analyse and succinctly communicate complex issues with clarity to both internal and external clients.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, in particular an ability to summarise and analyse large amounts of information.
  • A proactive individual who can identify opportunities and produce content to ensure the team's strong market presence.
  • The successful applicant will be able to manage demanding workloads with strict deadlines and possess strong project management skills.
  • Strong client focussed approach with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work proactively with lawyer teams, PSLs and Business Development (BD) to continue to raise the profile of the Employment team and cement client relationships by identifying opportunities, drafting articles, legal insights and thought leadership content for external and internal consumption.

  • Work with the Learning and Development (L&D) team to draft and deliver content for client and lawyer training sessions and events.

  • Work with the wider Knowledge and Business Services teams to develop client know how products such as horizon scanning tools and toolkits.

  • Assist BD in the preparation of pitches and tenders by researching and writing content to enable the team to exploit business opportunities;

With support from the Knowledge Research team, keep up to date with legal, business and industry developments and proactively disseminate the impact of any developments to our lawyers and clients.
