Role Overview

This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in legal technology and knowledge s to play a key supporting role in the development of our Knowledge function. You will have responsibility for providing day to day administrative support for the firm's knowledge management systems, assisting with the promotion, support, and further development of legal tech tools and internal knowledge systems. In particular, you will work with the Knowledge systems Manager to provide support for our intranet and client extranet services.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with the Knowledge team to ensure all enquiries on knowledge systems are acknowledged promptly, managing end user expectations and prioritising work accordingly.
  • Assisting in the management of the firm's extranet platform (HighQ) including creation, maintenance and administration of client facing extranet sites.
  • Day to day support for our extranet sites including first line support for all technical and content queries, user administration and site review and archiving.
  • Client facing support for our extranet sites dealing with client queries and liaising with the extranet supplier where appropriate.
  • Delivering training on the extranet platform to users across the firm.
  • Day-to-day support for users of the firm's intranet (Confluence), helping page owners to maintain their content.
  • Supporting the Knowledge Systems Manager in the content review and development of the firm's intranet platform.
  • Updating systems training materials and guides to ensure users can use knowledge systems effectively.
  • General administration including compiling reports on system usage and trends.
  • Carrying out inductions for new joiners on client and knowledge systems.
  • Managing the joiners, transfers and leavers process for the team including distribution of welcome emails, login creation and training administration.
  • Undertaking any other tasks for the Knowledge team and Professional Support Lawyers as and when required.

Position requirements

  • Graduate level. A degree or post-graduate qualification in law or a Knowledge related discipline is preferable but not essential.
  • Experience in a commercial, professional services or law firm environment would be well regarded, as would any extranet, intranet, portal or systems administration experience.
  • A genuine interest in knowledge management and related technology.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines and be flexible in managing tasks and workload on a daily basis.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • IT literate.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to form and maintain highly effective working relationships with all levels of seniority.
  • Strong communication skills.

Working conditions

  • This is a permanent full time position.
  • This role is based in the Bristol office with occasional travel to the London office.
