The successful candidate will have experience gained within a
marketing and business development function at a major professional
services firm - preferably within the legal sector.
The role would be suitable for an experienced BD Executive who is
looking for a full mix role in a mid-sized law firm where they can
make a strategic impact and help shape the growth of one of the firm's
most dynamic and forward-thinking groups. This is a high profile role
and would suit someone who is confident and has strong project
management and communication skills.
The role offers a balance of project ownership/autonomy with the
opportunity to get involved in team initiatives, with significant

Duties and Responsibilities include but not are limited to the following:
Proposition building and positioning
Draft compelling and engaging pitches and creds documents by
practice area, team and sector
Secure high placement in leading legal directories in
collaboration with the marketing services team
Work with the marketing services team and the lawyers to build
overall brand and reputation in the external market place
Practice area marketing/ business development
Provide strategic advice and guidance to lawyers concerning how to
raise profile, awareness and drive market reputation to key buyer groups
Work alongside lawyers to implement appropriate positioning and
business development tactics including legal updates, bulletins,
blogs, conferences, seminars, hospitality, telemarketing
Ensure practice area marketing initiatives dovetail with firmwide
marketing and brand building activities
Establish and monitor an approach to measure return on investment
on marketing and building activities
Oversee BD budgets for the group
Key Account Management
Working alongside the Head of Business Development, reaffirm and
develop the Commercial Group's Key Account Programme and implement
CRM best practice.
Knowledge, skills and experience
A strong understanding of business-to-business marketing, business
development and relationship management within professional services
Evidence of good Partner management skills, ideally gained within
a professional services environment
Demonstratable understanding of business development, client
development and CRM within the legal sector
