As a result of exponential growth we are looking to hire an Executive to join our Data & Analytics team, in either Sydney or Melbourne, with demonstrated experience in Data Governance. The Executive role is equivalent to a Manager/Senior Manager in a Big4 Consultancy. You will be responsible for delivering strategic Data and risk solutions, as well as providing effective communication to clients, maintaining key Ashurst and client relationships, and contributing to the growth and development of the Risk Advisory practice and Data & Analytics team in Australia.

Across a regular week as an Executive you will:

  • Develop data governance frameworks for organisations.
  • Lead and co-lead delivering client solutions by reviewing client materials, conducting research, analysing information and data, identifying gaps/issues and developing recommendations to solve their problems across the breadth of data.
  • Be responsible for structuring and managing the end to end project scope, budget and matter admin, developing project plans, identifying resourcing needs, delegating and reviewing work across the project team and meeting delivery dates.
  • Own the creation of client artefacts (agendas, check in packs, reports, workshop materials, presentations), revised with input from Directors and Partners.
  • Develop go-to market materials, including capability statements and potential offerings.
  • Develop proposals including designing the proposed approach for delivering client solutions, design the scope of work, cost estimates, and identify relevant expertise and experience required to suit the client's needs.
  • Assist in building and fostering trusted client relationships with integrity including liaising directly with clients and leading client meetings, when required.
  • Assist with coaching junior members of the team and recruitment.

About You:

  • You're excited about using your data talents to help solve a diverse range of client problems with new, unique and inventive solutions, and assist in the growth of a unique and 'first to market' practice.
  • You have 5-8 years' experience working in Data Governance, ideally in a client facing role in a well-respected consultancy.
  • You have proven experience bringing high quality value to clients through developing data strategies, designing & embedding data governance/quality frameworks, documenting data management policies, driving insights through analytics and reporting, or creating AI/ML-backed solutions.
  • You have experience in identification of Critical Data Elements, and documentation of data lineage.
  • You're experienced and comfortable with the common tools in this space. We use a combination of Alteryx, SQL Server, PowerBI, Tableau and Python but no worries if you're not an expert in these; experience with other common analytics tools is also fine.
  • You're confident in autonomously finding solutions to a range of problems, especially those related to risk management, in a commercial and client focused way.
  • You have proven experience in business development including developing go-to-market material and proposals.
  • You have experience developing and managing project plans and ensuring project budgets are met.
  • You have proven experience coaching and guiding junior members of your team.
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication with a focus on attention to detail. You will have experience writing a range of business documents including reports, letters and proposals.
