The Opportunity:

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a People & Culture (P&C) Business Partner to join our Brisbane office on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.

Our P&C function focus on advancing the firm through focus driven transformation strategies to attract, retain and enable market leading talent, assisting individuals and the firm to reach their full potential.

As a P&C Business Partner with Ashurst, a key focus of your role will be leading and supporting across a range of P&C projects with a focus on the employment relations framework, advisory and compliance. In this capacity you will have the opportunity to work closely with the APAC business partnering team, the Office of General Counsel, Employee Relations Senior Manager (London based) and other key stakeholders across the firm. In addition, you will provide business partnering support to teams and leadership based in our Brisbane, Ann St office working closely with the global Business Services business partnering team.

About you:

The successful candidate will have;

  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation framework; demonstrated experience in leading on the interpretation and application of relevant Awards, legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Experience and skills in an HR business partner/advisory capacity, ideally within the legal/professional services industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading HR projects and WH&S matters
  • Consultative based communication skills; proven ability to influence and shape positive people and business outcomes
  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships across the firm, with confidence in dealing with stakeholders at all levels
