Department/Role overview

We have an opportunity for an Azure Cloud Engineer and to join our Cloud Centre of Excellence team at an exciting time of significant transformation.

Reporting to the Cloud Platform Manager, in this role you will establish and provide DevOps, engineering, operational and administrative support to our Azure environments in partnership with colleagues in the UK and Australia.

Main responsibilities

  • Management of Azure IaaS, PaaS and Hybrid Cloud
  • Automation, provision, release and support of Azure resources

via DevOps CI/CD pipelines

  • Monitor and manage the system health and performance of cloud-based systems and applications
  • Manage incidents & service request queues to ensure that SLAs are met and publication of weekly reports
  • Maintain internal procedural and technical documentation.
  • Work with the Cyber Ops Team to protect our systems
  • Create and update knowledgebase articles
  • Create and maintain standard changes

Essential skills
and experience

  • Azure Certified Administrator
  • Other Azure Certifications considered eg Certified Azure Security Engineer, Certified DevOps Engineer
  • Equivalent Azure Cloud Support experience
  • Strong understanding and experience of supporting IaaS and PaaS services including networking, security, backup & recovery
  • Familiar with Azure CLI, PowerShell, Bicep , Terraform and ARM
  • Experience working with Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Azure logging, monitoring , IAM, RBAC, ABAC
  • Experience with Azure Policy to standards e.g. ISO27001, NIST, CIS
  • Experience configuring and managing Azure Pipelines and with Azure DevOps as a CI/CD tool
  • Awareness of ITSM frameworks (support, delivery and implementation)
  • Excellent communication & organizational skills.
  • Excellent security awareness

Desired skills and experience

  • Advanced Azure certifications
  • Cloud migration experience including use of toolsets such as Azure Migrate
