Department / Role Overview

*This role is being recruited on an initial fixed term basis until April 2025*

The Client Growth & Innovation (CGI) team plays an integral part of the Firm's growth strategy driving the development and performance of the Strategic Client Portfolio (Priority Clients Program). A newer pillar within Clients, Markets and Growth function, this department represents a true focus on transformation to the way the firm manages and grows our most strategic clients globally.

A great opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Client Investment and Commitment Executive to grow and develop within Ashurst alongside a high performing team.

This is a new role and as such will need an enthusiastic and committed individual with excellent communication and project management/organisational skills to support the Client Investment and Commitments Lead, in establishing the necessary tools and processes to execute on a range of client investment and commitment activities across the strategic client portfolio and boarder client portfolio.

This will play an important part in reshaping our client centric account management in line with Ashurst's 2027 strategy.

Main Responsbilities

The role of the Client Investment and Commitment Executive will primarily be responsible for proactively assisting Strategic Account Managers, initially across CGI in end-to-end support. This ranges across client engagement and service delivery activities to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery of client centric material and project coordination.


Commitment Mapping and Recording:

  • Responsible for investigating and recording all commitments made and delivered on for each of our Strategic Clients as well as other high investment client portfolios such as financial institutions.
  • Work alongside internal teams such as ASC, finance, pricing, Markets & Growth BD, regional Strategic Client Account Managers and pursuits teams, coordinating timely, relevant data and recording, with close attention to detail across a range of commitment activities.
  • Working with operational teams, ensure all accounts follow governance processes regarding compliance and rate recording.
  • Ensure internal and public facing information and relationship details are up-to-date and compliant.
  • Act as first point of contact for all enquiries regarding client information or administrative insight and information for client commitments and account details.
  • Undertake external and internal research, business analysis and competitor intelligence to support client facing meetings, pursuits and proposals.
  • Work with the Client Investment and Commitment Lead to identify and develop efficient processes to better deliver on the commitment requirements across our client portfolio.

Strategic Account Manager (SAM) direct team support:

  • The Client Investment and Commitment Executive will support a team of Strategic Account Managers to drive investment and commitments on their client portfolios by providing end to end coordination support.
  • Be a central contact for all client events and training coordination including list development, venue coordination, invitation drafting and sign off, merchandise and logistics coordination, working closely with ASC, the events and other business services teams.
  • Work with central teams to compile client facing relationship reports to include financial and non-financial data.
  • Support the SAMs on day-to-day queries for both client reporting and billing.
  • Work with ASC reporting to ensure the correct labelling of matters for reporting purposes (own account/pass through).
  • Support the delivery of the Client, Growth and Innovation team plans and execution activity.
  • Work with the SAMs, HR and other stakeholders to support the secondee process, including tracking and recording secondee status.
  • Support SAMs with pursuit opportunities, working closely with the Global pursuits team.
  • Contribute to central CGI team initiatives, including supporting new systems and processes, and delivery of global projects, as required.
  • Brief relevant teams to produce client specific outputs, including coordinating content and liaising with the design and editing team as required.
  • Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies for client information - rates / client terms / pricing / etc.
  • Logging and keeping timely records on the CIC tracker (holistic overview of client and activities).
  • Support with data Interrogation on financials.
