Job Title 2025 Vacation Scheme/ 2027 Training Contract
Location Hong Kong
Description

As a leading international law firm, Ashurst Hong Kong brings together lawyers of the highest calibre with the technical knowledge, industry experience and regional know-how. Our Vacation Scheme and Training Contract will give you the opportunity to work with our legal talents from various practices.

Vacation Scheme

Every year, we organise a four-week vacation scheme over the summer for penultimate and final year law students.

The scheme is designed to give you an intensive experience of our culture and the kind of work we do. To give you a realistic taste of life as a trainee solicitor, you will rotate through different practices and will be supervised by a qualified solicitor.

You will gain an in-depth understanding of our practice areas from sharing sessions and legal training workshops. There will also be some social events for you to interact with our colleagues.

Training Contract

A thorough induction kicks off your life as a trainee, introducing you to all the resources you will need to support your work and training.

During the two-year training, we will collaborate with you to plan four seats of six months in which you will be provided with opportunities to rotate through various practices and divisions. One of the four seats is likely to be an international secondment to one of our overseas offices.

All our trainees would have to have completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) prior to commencing a training contract. We offer a stipend, payable in instalments, during your one-year PCLL studies and reimburse the full costs for the course once you start your training contract.

You are highly encouraged to participate in our Vacation Scheme before applying for a training contract.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible you need to be on track for a strong 2.1 in your law degree. Strong English and Chinese skills are also required and any additional foreign language skills are welcome.

If you haven't met this criteria and there are mitigating circumstances there will be an opportunity for you to provide us with this information on your application.

Application Period: From 7 September 2024 to 5 January 2025

Please note that we interview and offer positions on a rolling basis from 7 September 2025.
