As a result of growth we are looking to hire a Specialist (comparable to Consultant/Senior Consultant/Manager level in Big 4 consulting firms) to join our Regulatory Risk team in either Sydney or Melbourne. As a Specialist, you will be an integral member of a team delivering regulatory, risk and compliance advice and solutions to clients across a variety of industries, including financial services, telecommunications, energy, retail, corporate and government. Your work will include advising clients on the development and implementation of risk frameworks, the assessment of risk programs, the design of controls and implementation of controls testing and uplift, as well as the design and implementation of regulatory engagement strategies and regulatory change and compliance programs. You will also support Partners, Directors and Executives to identify and execute business development activities to build the Ashurst Risk Advisory brand, including owning the creation of proposals, actively seeking and taking on input from the team.

About You:

  • You have 3 - 5 years of specialised risk, compliance and/or regulatory experience, ideally within a consulting environment, and are comfortable with the common tools, frameworks and standards in this space.
  • You're a self-starter who is keen to work in a fast-paced environment that is always evolving and requires you to be proactive, confident and humble, embracing alternate viewpoints.
  • You have proven experience delivering high quality work for clients and stakeholders in line with expectations and deadlines and with an innovative mindset and approach, including non-financial risk management and compliance assessments, strategies and controls.
  • You're confident in autonomously finding solutions to a range of problems, especially those related to risk management, in a commercial and client focused way.
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication with a focus on attention to detail. You will have experience writing a range of business documents, including reports, letters and proposals.
  • You have experience providing the highest quality service to clients and fostering professional and commercial relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • You're passionate about collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team across Ashurst to solve client problems. You actively seek and welcome feedback to support the development of your expertise and capabilities.
  • You're enthusiastic to continue learning and developing your skills and knowledge every day.
  • You're excited to work in a team that allows you to take on more responsibility, manage multiple priorities and proactively get involved in a range of work, including client interaction and business development.
