Job overview
Ashurst OSP's office in Jakarta is currently looking for a Senior Associate with strong experience in projects relating to energy, infrastructure and mining to join our well-regarded and expanding Projects & Energy Transition team. In this role, the successful candidate will work in collaboration with the wider team, on a range of interesting and complex matters.

Our Projects & Energy Transition team in Jakarta has established itself as one of the pre-eminent projects practices in Indonesia. We act for both private and public sector clients on some of the region's most iconic projects in the energy and resources, transportation and social infrastructure sectors in Indonesia and other countries across South-East Asia.


About you

  • 5 years or more post qualification experience in one or more leading law firms in Indonesia;
  • Exposure to projects with a focus on any of the following sectors: power and renewable energy, oil and gas, mining and infrastructure;
  • Excellent proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Proficiency in any other language is a plus;
  • Qualified in Indonesia. Qualification in any other jurisdiction is a plus;
  • A commitment to help develop this growing practice group and supporting our clients in the structuring, financing and development of major projects, based on previous experience;
  • Strong technical skills in relation to key regulatory framework and legal principles applicable to large scale projects, project agreements, project finance, legal drafting, coupled with an ability to address legal advice within a commercial context; and
  • Client facing experience and the ability to understand and respond effectively to clients as well as to build and maintain client relationships.
