Job Overview

Ashurst Reach is the firm's dedicated flexible legal resourcing solution, enabling us to source contract lawyers to temporarily augment a practice group legal team or to send on secondment to clients.

As a result of exponential growth and the future strategy for Reach, we are looking to hire a Talent Manager to work in the Reach management team to expand and maintain our flexible resourcing platform.

The Talent Manager will manage the end-to-end recruitment process to secure temporary/contract lawyers and will also be the key point of contact for maintaining candidate engagement and keeping up to date with their circumstances and availability.

This role is pivotal in building the profile of Ashurst Reach and achieving our goal of being the market leading flexible legal resourcing platform, and will report directly to the Associate Director who is responsible for the operation of the UK business on a day-to-day basis.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for temporary/contract lawyers in the UK ; including drafting job descriptions, screening applications, scheduling interviews, conducting interviews and reference screening.
  • Build the Reach brand by liaising with external candidates, building direct candidate pools utilising the firm's network, and continuing to foster key agency relationshipsDevelop strong relationships with Reach Consultants and lead conversations with Consultants about role opportunities as they arise, to ensure Reach is meeting both the needs of its clients and the career aspirations of its consultants
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders within Ashurst to ensure we attract talent to Reach that aligns with areas of high demand.
  • Ensuring good administration of internal candidate management and vacancy system, including closing finalised roles, moving candidates through workflow stages, ensuring all contact is recorded against candidates' profiles, and ensuring all hire and cost data is recorded against each role
  • Discussing new opportunities, including commercials, with candidates and shortlisting the talent based on client requirements
  • Drafting client proposals summarising talent options
  • Assist to create a sense of community among the panel of Reach Consultants Act as a brand ambassador for Reach within Ashurst and externally, explaining the value proposition for the firm and its clients

Essential Experience

  • Proven in-house or agency end-to-end recruitment experience within the legal sector
  • Advanced interviewing skills with experience of interviewing candidates from a legal background
  • Strong people, partnership, relationship management and consulting skills
  • Ability to think outside the box and adopt new search methodologies for analysing and assessing talent
  • Experience of utilising social media tools to develop employer brand and candidate sourcing techniques
  • Proven ability to develop rapport and relationships with candidates to best serve and promote the firm's brand
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to stay focussed and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on high quality outputs
  • Highly effective when collaborating in multi-skill teams
