We deliver strategic projects and commercial advice and solutions to enable planning, delivery and operation of major infrastructure projects and programs across a range of priority portfolios including energy, transport, housing, health, education and others.

Working with both government and non-government clients, you will work alongside Ashurst's Projects & Energy Transition, Real Estate & Property legal teams to bring a unique and market-leading approach to advising and supporting clients to navigate complex strategic commercial issues throughout the infrastructure lifecycle.

As a result of establishing and growing our team, we are looking to hire a Specialist (equivalent to a Consultant/Senior Consultant /Manager in Big 4 consulting) with project risk experience in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.

As a Specialist, you will be an integral member of a team delivering core project risk and compliance solutions to clients delivering major infrastructure, defence, utilities and transport projects. Your work will include supporting and advising clients on the development and implementation of risk frameworks, the assessment of risk programs, the implementation of controls testing and uplift, as well as the design and implementation of compliance programs. You will work closely with our adjacent legal services teams as well as our broader Risk Advisory and Ashurst Advance practices to deliver high quality, value adding services to clients wanting to extract maximum value from their contracting arrangements. You will also support business development activities, including tendering, to build the profile of the firm and yourself.

About You:

  • You are an experienced consultant with demonstrated capability and expertise in advising clients on risk and/or compliance management.
  • 3-5 years' experience ideally in a client facing role within a well-respected consulting firm. Candidates with a minimum of 4 years' experience in compliance, risk management or internal audit, preferably with listed companies, will also be considered.
  • Experience in the infrastructure, projects or property industry is essential.
  • You're a self-starter who is keen to work in a fast-paced environment that is always evolving and requires you to be proactive, adaptable and humble.
  • You have proven experience delivering high quality work for clients and stakeholders in line with expectations and deadlines.
  • You're confident in autonomously finding solutions to a range of problems, especially those related to risk management, in a commercial and client focused way.
  • You have exceptional written and verbal communication with a focus on attention to detail. You will have experience writing a range of business documents including reports, letters and proposals.
  • You have experience providing the highest quality service to clients and fostering professional and commercial relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • You're excited to work in a team that allows you to take on more responsibility and proactively get involved in a range of work, including client interaction and business development.
