About The Team

We have a global team of Corporate partners and associates who are located across major commercial centres including in Australia, Asia, UK, Central Europe and the Middle East. This enables us to provide a true global, local and regional offering to our clients.

Our Singapore corporate transactions team regularly advises clients on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, as well as capital markets transactions. This includes advising on all aspects of public takeovers, schemes of arrangement, private equity buyouts, IPOs, secondary offerings, and due diligence and regulatory matters. We specialise in transactions in highly regulated industry sectors, in particular the energy and natural resources, financial services and insurance sectors, where we have strong sector experience and in-depth understanding of the key relevant commercial and regulatory issues facing our clients. About The Role

The Corporate Transactions team in Singapore advises a wide range of public and private clients on complex and high-profile matters cross-border M&As and investments, particularly in the region.

The team are now looking for an ambitious, driven and committed junior level practitioner to join this growing practice. This opportunity represents an outstanding opportunity for a team-player with strong technical skills and commercial acumen to join this well established and high regarded team.

Main tasks:

  • Drafting and reviewing of legal documents and agreements, including sale and purchase agreements, shareholder agreements, joint venture agreements and the like.
  • Familiarity with due diligence (both buy-side and sell-side)
  • Assisting in negotiations and related matters
  • Matter completion and post-closing work.
  • Business development and networking activities.
  • Contributing to department know-how.

About You

  • At least 1 to 2 years' legal experience gained within a top-tier firm;
  • Qualified in England & Wales / Singapore, or other common law jurisdiction;
  • Strong experience in M&A transactions;
  • Keen sense of curiosity and adaptability to turn your hands at novel transactions and issues;
  • Excellent technical and drafting skills coupled with commercial nous;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including drafting) and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage multiple and often competing priorities;
  • Build team morale and motivate team members, contributing to the creation of a positive work environment and to assist with training and development;
  • Lateral thinker to develop innovative solutions to issues that arise during transactions; and
  • A proactive, positive and energetic approach with a commitment to providing excellent service and, a desire to interact with the market and build client relationships.
