Job Title Head of Procurement, Sourcing & Vendor Governance

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting and challenging senior role within the internal facing Operations function at Ashurst. The global Operations team is responsible for several deliverables within Ashurst, including Legal Support (Legal Operations), Workplace, Health & Safety, Business Continuity, Front of House, Facilities, Business Continuity, Sustainability as well as Procurement and Sourcing.

This appointment will head up the Procurement & Sourcing Team, which is both a strategic and hands-on role and will focus on:

  • Embed and enhance efficient procurement process within our culture and across the firm to ensure Ashurst remains at the forefront of best practice.
  • Cultivate collaboration across our business services and practice teams ensuring we have a more visible and hight touch approach with vendor and supplier management,
  • Develop and deliver insightful procurement negotiation training to lawyers, in conjunction with the Global Pricing team.
  • Lead the firm's Supplier Engagement strategy in support of our net zero ambitions and responsible for the achievement of our near-term supplier engagement targets
  • Raise the Ashurst profile by working with key internal stakeholders to represent Ashurst effectively in relevant industry and regional forums on P&S

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field; Master's degree or professional certification in procurement is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in procurement, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Entrepreneurial S&P professional with business strategy disciplines and familiar operating in a multijurisdictional environment.
  • Knowledge of international procurement laws and regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects with multiple stakeholders, simultaneously.
  • Known as a "connector" of people, ideas, intelligence.
  • Critical thinker - ability to apply best practice to Ashurst's ways of working and specific requirements.
