Job Title Product Owner - Integration & Automation

The Opportunity:

We have an opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join our IT team as a Product Owner for Integration and Automation Platforms.

This role is pivotal in driving the development and delivery of our integration and automation solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction. They will work both with our global IT, and our Business associates teams, including our internal developers, internal customers, business system owners, other product owners and stakeholders to influence and guide the team, despite having no direct reports.

The role will involve working in partnership with design, technology, legal and client teams, as well as external consultants, employing Agile and lean methodologies, adaptive project management and human-centred design principles. In addition to providing hands-on support, there is the opportunity to help us to refine and shape our development processes and best practice.

This role requires flexibility to incorporate delivery elements such as sprint reporting, running playbacks, and managing a pipeline of projects alongside traditional product ownership responsibilities.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of and experience with the following:

  • Agile Software Development: Experience working as part of an agile team in a software development environment.
  • User Story Definition: Ability to define and document user stories through collaboration with UX researchers, software developers, and the broader team.
  • Product Backlog Management: Proficiency in prioritising backlogs within relevant tools (e.g., JIRA, MS DevOps).
  • Software Principles: High-level understanding of cloud environments and architecture, front-end UX, databases, and APIs.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication, with the ability to adapt to different client styles and behaviours. Ability to understand instructions and seek clarity or challenge instructions where appropriate.
  • Personal Skills: Meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving nature, resilience, and ability to develop from constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence.
  • Excellent understanding of cloud environments and architecture.
  • Excellent understanding and experience with front-end UX, databases, and APIs.
  • Excellent at developing detailed specifications for product features, ensuring they are clearly understood by the development teams and customers.
  • Passion for Product Development: Enthusiasm for understanding customer needs and developing processes for product development.
  • Willingness to adapt approach to the audience and circumstances, and ability to harness ambiguity to shape new opportunities and approaches.
  • Experience with Product and Project Lifecycles, Lean SAFE, ITIL methodologies.
