The Opportunity:

As a result of exponential growth the Ashurst Advance Reach team is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Talent Specialist to join the team on either a full time permanent basis, or open to considering part time flexible working arrangements also.

In this role you will report to the National Talent Manager, Ashurst Reach and work closely with the rest of the Reach team in Australia to assist with the future growth and development of Reach in Australia. You will manage the end-to-end recruitment process to secure temporary/contract lawyers, whilst also being the key point of contact for maintaining candidate engagement within the team, and keeping up to date with their circumstances and availability.

The Reach Talent Acquisition team are close-knit, fun and supportive with a national and international presence, and are well-regarded within the firm. The Reach team is a new and dynamic team working hard to grow the Reach business both in Australia and the UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving that growth and will be an integral member of our award winning New Law division.

Key responsibilities will include (not limited to):

  • Building the brand of Reach through liaising with external candidates, building direct candidate networks, as well as continuing to foster key agency relationships;
  • Developing strong relationships with Reach Consultants and liaising with Consultants about role opportunities as they arise to ensure Reach is meeting both the needs of its clients and the career aspirations of its Consultants;
  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process for temporary/contract lawyers in the Australian offices including drafting job descriptions; screening applications; scheduling interviews and booking rooms/VC facilities for interviews; conducting interviews; and agreeing commercial terms;
  • Researching and creating market maps/searches for specific vacancies, and headhunting selected candidates after consultation with relevant partners/hiring managers;
  • Administration of internal candidate management and vacancy system, including closing finalised roles, moving candidates through workflow stages, ensuring all contact is recorded against candidates' profiles, and ensuring all hire and cost data is recorded against each role.


About You:

  • Proven in-house or agency end-to-end recruitment experience within the legal sector.
  • Advanced interviewing skills with experience of interviewing candidates from a legal background, including at senior levels.
  • Strong people, partnership, relationship management and consulting skills.
  • Proven ability to develop rapport and relationships with candidates to best serve and promote the firm's brand.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to stay focused and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
