Skills and Experience Needed:

With a growing base of clients, we would love to talk to lawyers with a current Practising Certificate (or ability to obtain one) who are interested in exploring opportunities to work with Ashurst clients or within one of the firm's Practice Groups.

We work with clients in all major cities in Australia. Many roles are hybrid or can be done remotely, and we can work with you to find a role that suits you in terms of numbers of days/hours worked.

With a diverse client base, and whether you are a specialist in a field, or more a generalist commercial lawyer, we are able to offer a range of interesting assignments. We regularly have opportunities for lawyers with excellent experience in the following areas:

  • General Commercial Contracts
  • Construction and Projects
  • Financial Services (Regulatory & Transactional)
  • Real Estate
  • Corporate/M&A
  • Technology/IP
  • Energy/Resources
  • Employment law
  • Litigation

As well as excellent legal experience you will need:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships externally and internally
  • Strong commercial and business acumen
  • The ability to rapidly understand and adapt to the needs of the business
  • An excellent client service focus, ethic and commitment
  • A current practising certificate (or the ability to get one immediately)
  • The right to work and live in Australia
  • Willingness to engage with Ashurst via an Independent Incorporated Legal Practice or casual employment
