The programme is designed to give first year university students a real insight to life as a commercial lawyer and the work that we do at Baker McKenzie.

Our aim is to equip students with the skills and knowledge that they need to pursue their career when they return to university; this will be done by a series of interactive workshops, shadowing, networking and one-to-one sessions with graduate recruitment. The first year insight scheme will take place in our London office.

To be eligible for this programme, you must be in your first year of study at a UK university.

To help manage your expectations, please see below our assessment timeline:

  • November 16th 2023 - Applications open.
  • November 16th 2023 - 1st February 2024 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • February 1st 2024 - Applications deadline.
  • February 2024 - Successful candidates sent an invite to undertake a video interview.
  • March 2024 - Successful candidates invited to First Year Insight Scheme
  • April 22nd and April 23rd 2024 - First Year Insight Scheme takes place
