We have an exciting opportunity for either an Associate or Senior Associate (4+PQE) to join our fast growing business immigration practice. This role is to be based from any one of our four offices; Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds or London (with flexible hybrid-working).

The team operates on a truly national basis, providing our lawyers with the opportunity to work with a variety of colleagues across the firm. We act for a fantastic and diverse range of clients, consisting of businesses within the health, higher education, financial services and commercial services sectors.

The role

This role will involve advising on a variety of business immigration matters including but not limited to; skilled worker visas including navigating and using the SMS to request and assign Certificate of Sponsorship, sponsor licence applications/compliance and right to work advice, carrying out sponsorship compliance and right to work audits, challenging immigration enforcement action, supporting clients with immigration queries across our market focus areas including Higher Education, Health Care and Commercial Services and corporate support.

You would be joining a busy team and would have the chance to be part of, and help shape, our ambitious growth plans as a firm. There are genuine promotion prospects for those with the ambition and skills to do so, plenty of variation in the work and plenty of support from both the team and the wider department to help you develop your own practice.

What we are looking for from you

The successful candidate will have the following skill set/experience:

  • Previous business immigration experience
  • An ability to manage their own caseload with minimal supervision
  • Experience supporting with corporate transactions including immigration due diligence is desirable
  • Demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness
  • A genuine interest in networking and business development activities
  • Confidence in working directly with clients
  • A keenness to work on and potentially lead projects across the wider team/firm

We operate a hybrid working model based on the needs of our clients, teams and people. Our core business hours are 9am - 5:15pm Monday to Friday, but we're open to our people working more flexibly around those times and welcome a conversation with you if you have any questions about this.
