A vacancy has arisen for a 3 – 5 PQE Associate to join our Employment team in Birmingham or Leeds.

Bevan Brittan is dedicated to providing practical, high quality and commercially relevant legal advice to public, private and third sector organisations. Our experience includes working with clients across central and local government, NHS organisations, housing associations and private sector organisations (including manufacturing, retail, publishing and media). We operate from offices in Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and London.

The Role

The firm has a nationally recognised Employment, Pensions and Immigration team which primarily advises employer organisations across the broad range of industry sectors listed above.

In joining the team your role would involve advising on both contentious and non-contentious workforce matters, working as part of a national team, supporting partner leads on more complex matters whilst being responsible for your own case load. You would be advising on employer relations matters including internal disciplinary/grievance/capability processes, reviewing policies and procedures and contracts, advising on equalities obligations, conduct of and/or support on Employment Tribunals, advising on TUPE processes including inputting into drafting of commercial agreements, delivering training on a broad range of employment issues and supporting business development.

The Individual

The successful candidate will be involved in providing sound, commercial employment advice and would have the following skill set/experience:

  • A broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment experience
  • Case management of ET claims including drafting pleadings, witness statements
  • Advising on employer relations issues including settlement negotiations
  • Equal Opportunities

  • Advising on restructures/redundancy processes/TUPE
  • Some experience or an interest in immigration law and/ or Health & Safety law would be desirable.
