Rise to the Challenge

We are recruiting for a Corporate Communications Assistant (or Executive, dependent on experience)

within the Business Development and Marketing team. This role reports into the Marketing Manager and is one of a team of four direct reports that cover a range of internal and external marketing channels.

You will be part of a vibrant Business Development & Marketing Department working with colleagues across marketing, business development, bids and events, plus working closely with some exceptional Partners who are leaders in their field.

PURPOSE

Home office of Bristol (with flexible working), with travel where required to other offices, the successful candidate will provide external and internal communications support to the firm. The role works closely with the Director of Business Development & Marketing, Marketing Manager and wider Business Development & Marketing Team to assist in promoting and protecting the firm's brand and support the firm's internal communications, including its transformation projects.

OBJECTIVES

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will provide communications support to promote the activities of the firm externally and internally.

  • External communications to share and promote corporate news, including Financial Results, Awards, Directories, Appointments and Responsible Business messages through traditional and digital PR, plus social media.
  • Be the day to day lead contact for the firm's PR agency and Media monitoring service
  • Produce internal communications, delivered to 500 staff, to manage the internal communications content and programme, informing and providing regular updates to the firm about organisational changes and developments within our markets.

MAIN DUTIES

  • PR - Manage PR agency day to day activities, co-ordinate corporate news and Responsible Business media releases, produce awards submissions, manage media monitoring service and manage the News section on the website.
  • Social media - Create and schedule posts for our social media channels to promote the firm's corporate news, Responsible Business activities and other content. When required, also support business development team to issue out social media content.
  • Internal communications - Create and publish intranet news communications and own the Intranet News schedule including delivery of the weekly firm newsletter and weekly interview series. Support other departments across the wider business in communicating firm-wide projects and initiatives including our IT and delivery change programme, Responsible Business activities and other communications projects.
  • Responsible Business - contribute to the Marketing Team's support for our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Community Support, Environmental Sustainability and Wellbeing strands of our Responsible Business programme, plus other community and fundraising initiatives, and pro bono work originating in each our 4 Bevan Brittan offices.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience

  • Ideally 2+ years' experience in a similar role (preferably in professional services environment);
  • Experience working with a PR agency
  • Experience of delivering B2B social media
  • Experience of creating and delivering internal communications, including internal comms projects
  • Desirable - experience using a Content Management System (CMS) such as Umbraco and social media scheduling software such as Hootsuite

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Organised, and able to manage projects with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders
  • Proficient in MS Word
  • Desirable - basic InDesign skills

Education and training

  • Educated to Degree level or with previous experience working in a Communications or Marketing role.
