Learn from specialists

Our Litigation, Criminal Regulatory and Compliance team advises on a broad spectrum of criminal regulatory matters including those relating to health and safety; fire safety standards; building safety; environmental prosecutions and waste licensing; transport; product safety and food safety. The team sits within the Litigation, Advisory & Regulatory department which deals with substantial commercial, regulatory and public law disputes (including Judicial Reviews), as well as complex advisory work including around public law decision making and regulatory considerations.

Rise to the Challenge

We have an exciting opportunity for a specialist regulatory / health and safety / statutory compliance lawyer to join our Litigation, Criminal Regulatory and compliance department. For this role we are looking for an individual who has experience and an interest in both advisory (across a variety of topics) and enforcement/prosecution work, acting for the prosecution or the defence at inquests, PACE interviews and prosecutions in the Magistrates / Crown Court.

What we are looking for from you

The successful candidate will ideally have experience and skill-sets allowing them to work independently (under limited supervision) and/or work as a part of a team primarily on the following type of work:

  • Health and Safety
  • Wider Statutory Compliance (including Fire/Gas/Water safety) and application of safety related regulations more generally (including Building Safety/CDM)

Not essential, however experience and skill-sets in the following aligned areas of work would also be beneficial:

  • Corporate compliance areas (including anti-bribery and corruption; modern slavery etc.)
  • Other areas of regulation including transport, environmental and waste regulations, food safety, trading standards, advertising, consumer protection and potentially areas like licensing.

The role can be based out of any of our four offices but the candidate may be required to travel nationally for client meetings / court work.
