Rise to the Challenge

The Markets & Client Executive is an integral part of the Business Development team, providing support to the Market Focus Groups, Partners and lawyers in developing, building and retaining strong client relationships throughout the firm. The Market & Client Executive will work closely with the team of Business Development Executives, Business Development Manager and Business Development & Marketing Director to develop our market knowledge and secure our brand profile in new markets.

We currently have a permanent opportunity in the team, as well as a 13 month fixed term contract opportunity. The permanent post holder will be supporting the Insurance & Financial Services and Commercial Market Focus Groups (MFGs) in the delivery of their business plans. The fixed term contract post holder will be supporting the Health Market Focus Groups.

On joining the team, you would undertake a variety of work including:

  • Providing the link between the MFGs and the BD&M team
  • Controlling and managing the budget allocation of the Business Development Budget
  • Managing key strategic relationships
  • Supporting the Business Development Manager in achieving the MFGs overall objectives and financial performance
  • Supporting various legal departments to achieve market profile
  • Developing best practice and share knowledge across MFGs
  • Developing an understanding of your market place and add value
  • Identifying and assisting with targeting of clients for growth, relationship management teams and new business opportunities.

The successful candidate will provide support for a variety of functions some of which will include:

  • Support Head of MFGs on strategy and planning
  • Support MFGs implementation of business plan regarding workstreams, market information, client research, campaigns and events
  • Day to day support of key strategic relationships
  • Support bid proposals
  • Brief and work with other BDM colleagues on delivery of marketing, events, PR and conferences/events
  • Represent Bevan Brittan at industry events and conferences
  • Develop and assist with new product offerings
  • Member of Key Client Relationship teams
  • To keep and update key client information on the firms CRM system.
  • Manage relevant market directory submissions

The BD&M department are predominantly based in Bristol, however we are also open to applicants based in our Leeds office where we have a satellite BD&M team.

Essential skill set requirements:

  • Experience in a business development / client account management / project management role, ideally a professional services environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to network, build strong relationships and negotiate
  • Strong communicator (both written and verbal) and relationship developer
  • Strategic thinker, with a level of business acumen to provide opinion and challenge to others
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a wider team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills working in a close team environment;
  • Positive, enthusiastic and personable ("team player");
  • Resilient - able to work independently and with multiple stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and be adaptable to change;
