We have a great opportunity for an experienced Conflicts and AML Analyst to join our Client Intake Team (CIT). You will be joining us at an exciting time as we continue to look for innovative ways to improve our internal processes and client offering. This role forms a key part of that journey, is a first for the firm and comes in ahead of our implementation of a new Client Intake system (Intapp). If successful you can expect support in obtaining your ICA qualifications.

As our Conflicts and AML Analyst your main responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing new client and matter forms to ensure complete details are provided and querying instances where the information is unclear or incomplete.
  • Acting as an escalation point for the CIT supporting them with complex Customer Due Diligence (CDD) / Know Your Client (KYC) procedures.
  • Undertaking ongoing Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Sanctions and monitoring high-risk clients.
  • Advising and making recommendations on issues related to commercial and regulatory conflicts of interest for clearance in line with the firm's Conflict Polices; and,
  • Advising the Client Support Team (CST), fee earners and partners on best practice in relation to client matter opening procedures.

Although we are currently working from home, the role will be based in our Bristol office which is located in the heart of the city, a stone's throw away from Bristol Temple Meads.

We're not going to lie this role will be busy and challenging, however at the same time, we believe, rewarding. To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Proven experience dealing with AML, CDD and KYC in an international, regulated firm (law firm/banking or credit institution).
  • In depth knowledge of UK Money Laundering Regulations and the EU Directives on Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.
  • To be familiar with complex company structures (e.g. Funds, Trusts, SPVs and International).
  • Excellent communication skills, able to give clear guidance on complex AML/CDD issues.
  • Prior exposure to high risk clients, sanctions screening and PEPs.
  • Proven conflicts experience with a good understanding of the SRA Standards and Regulations and in particular the rules relating to conflicts of interest.

We work in a fast-paced environment so you will need to keep up: adaptability and resilience are key to success in this role. Our Client Intake Team work very hard but in return we offer support and a fantastic environment to work in, including an onsite café/coffee shop, and a cake trolley delivered straight to your desk!
