Work Experience with Capital Law

We understand the importance of gaining proactive work experience and believe that it adds great value to those wishing to pursue a career in law. We are looking for a number of individuals to join our 2-week Vacation Scheme in the Summer of 2021.

The scheme has been designed to help you improve your skills and legal knowledge, whilst also giving us a chance to get to know you better. During the process, you will get to meet our partners, associates, solicitors, and current trainees, whilst finding out more about the structure of work and training and what cases and transactions actually involve.

You will also get to experience what it is like to work at Capital Law and get a feel for the culture within the firm – ensuring your experience is the right one is as vital for you as it is for us. This will be a good opportunity for you to gain a better understanding of the skills and personal qualities that we look for at Capital Law and what they mean in practice.

What can you expect?

Capital Law adopts a hands-on approach across all aspects of its work experience offerings. We aim to provide participants with the opportunity to work on ‘live’ matters, whilst integrating them in the day-to-day running of the firm. You will be placed in one seat for the 2-week duration, in one of the following areas of law:

• Commercial Disputes
• Corporate & Commercial
• Real Estate
• Employment & Immigration

We will endeavour where possible to place individuals into an area of preference, however, cannot guarantee this.

You can expect the experience to be varied, informative but most importantly of value to you. You will be assigned a ‘buddy’ from within the firm, as well as a supervisor from the area of law you are placed in. In addition to the work you will be doing within the team, there will be a range of workshops, group activities, presentations, networking events giving you exposure to engage with colleagues across the firm at all levels.

Who can apply?

Candidates that have either completed or are in the process of completing an undergraduate degree in any discipline. You will also need to be eligible to apply for Capital Law’s 2022 or 2023 Training Contract intake.
