Corporate Banking Solicitor - Corporate and Commercial
Permanent - Full time - Competitive salary (plus excellent benefits) - Cardiff (Currently remote, working flexibly
going forward) - 1-3 years PQE
We are looking for a Banking solicitor to work on a variety of
matters, including general corporate banking, leveraged and
acquisition finance, real estate finance and development finance.

Working within the Corporate and
Commercial team
We are one of the largest corporate and
commercial teams based in Wales, consistently towards the top of
Experian's Welsh deal list, and ranked tier 1 in the Legal 500. Our
focus is to develop our reputation nationally as an expert and
cost-effective practice. We also want to be recognised for our
ability to work alongside senior teams of major businesses, and in
particular their in-house lawyers.
We cover a diverse range of markets and clients, the common features
being the negotiation, structuring (or restructuring) and
documentation of commercial loan transactions for lenders and
borrowers. We advise on deals ranging in size from small business
loans to credit facilities in excess of £100 million. We work as part
of a cross-practice team on complex transactions.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for working alongside senior lawyers
providing high quality and specialist advice.
You will handle your own banking and finance matters (with
supervision) including acquisition finance, development finance,
asset-based lending and general corporate banking.
You will advise on all aspects of law for a range of lenders
including banks and housing associations, and borrowers including
public and private sector organisations.
You will need to demonstrate that you are able to work as part of
a team of partners, associates, trainees and paralegals on complex
and innovative transactions for our national and international
client base.
You will work within a fast-paced, challenging environment, where
you will be required to meet tight deadlines.
You will be expected to develop existing client relationships as
well as building your own contacts, client base and skills.
You'll need:
NQ - 1-5 years PQE with experience within a reputable banking and
finance team.
Good grounding in the basic elements of banking and finance law.
Experience of carrying out research tasks, investigations/searches
of documents.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, clear written
presentation, strong organisational skills, good time management,
good initiative and problem-solving ability.
Team-focused with a flexible and collaborative approach to working
with others, but also able to work alone.
Capable of working effectively under pressure and using own
initiative to tackle tough decisions and present innovative ways to
help clients.
The successful candidate must be technically competent and
commercially aware. You will have good social skills, be a team
player with a strong client focused approach and have plenty of
drive and enthusiasm to help us to provide an excellent client service.
Strong client focus with an ability and willingness to get
actively involved in marketing and business development.
