The Firm
Capsticks is a leading provider of legal services to
the health, social care, housing and emergency services sectors, as
well as in the field of professional discipline. The firm has a
turnover of c£47m and around 550 staff - including 400 fee earners -
across 5 offices nationally. We act for a wide range of long
standing clients in both the public and private sector, including
all forms of NHS organisations, governmental and regulatory bodies,
registered providers, insurers, police, fire and rescue services,
independent health and social care providers, charities and GP practices.

The role
The firm’s national Housing and Regeneration department carries out a
full range of commercial property work including development and
construction work for its health, social care and housing clients from
across the voluntary, public and private sectors. This includes major
hospital and housing developments. The team also advises on energy
infrastructure projects.
We are now seeking a non-contentious construction lawyer (4 years
PQE) to join our busy national team. The successful candidate will
undertake a wide range of high quality and complex work for both
public sector and independent sector clients including health and
energy sector clients.
The successful candidate will be a commercially minded solicitor who
can work very closely with clients, provide first class practical
advice and who istechnically proficient in construction work.
The role will involve responsibility for your own caseload as well as
working closely with the Partners and Solicitors of both the Real
Estate and Housing teams on business development opportunities. A
genuine interest in growing business from existing clients as well as
targeting and attracting new clients is therefore very important. We
don’t believe in standing still so all our team are encouraged to
getout there, raise their profile and network in order to help grow
the department and promote their career prospects.
Candidates will be expected to be able to demonstrate at interview
that they have:
Experience of JCT and NEC forms of contract;
excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
excellent commercial awareness;
excellent organisation and time management skills;
the ability and willingness to work flexibly and autonomously;
a hard working attitude;
a resilient nature; and
a team orientated mindset
