The role

We are looking for applicants in our London office who can demonstrate that they have a genuine interest in defendant clinical negligence and who wish to develop their career in this area of law.

The Clinical Law department comprises around 80 fee earners over three offices (Wimbledon, Leeds and Birmingham). The firm has been a member of NHS Resolution's panel of lawyers since its inception and, in addition to clinical negligence work, the department carries out a wide range of other work which includes inquests, advising on regulatory matters, public law issues, judicial reviews, mental health issues and clinical risk management.

Further details on the partners in the department and the type of work carried out can be found on our website at www.capsticks.com.

Skills set

We are seeking a self-motivated, ambitious and experienced solicitor to join our highly regarded and expanding clinical negligence/medical malpractice litigation team. The successful candidate will be expected to have litigation experience and well-versed in understanding the needs of our client base, preferably gained at a NHS Resolution Panel firm, together with experience of handling and advising on cases involving complex issues and maximum severity injuries. Experience of managing claims against GPs is an advantage but not essential. The role will involve managing a caseload of claims on instructions from NHS Resolution. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with a partner who will supervise your work and there will be opportunities for client contact and business development.

Capsticks is committed to recruiting the best people to maintain its status as legal adviser of choice and there are good opportunities for advancement within the group for able candidates, including the opportunity for business and practice development. There are also opportunities for suitable candidates to supervise more junior fee earners.

This is a great opportunity to join a driven and dynamic market leading firm so if you are ready for a new and exciting challenge then please apply for this position by sending your CV via the vacancies section on our website at www.capsticks.com.
