The Role

The firm's national Project and Procurement practice carries out a full range of projects, development and construction work for its health, social care and housing clients from across the voluntary, public and private sectors. This includes major hospital and housing developments and energy infrastructure projects.

We are now seeking a non-contentious construction lawyer to join our busy national team. The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of high quality and complex work for both public sector and independent sector clients including health and energy sector clients.

The successful candidate will be a commercially minded lawyer who can work very closely with clients, provide first class practical advice and who is technically proficient in non-contentious construction work. The team is appointed to act on some of the largest NHS New Hospital Programme construction projects and requires additional solicitors to add to the team.

The role will involve responsibility for your own caseload as well as working closely with the Partners and Solicitors of both the Commercial and Real Estate on business development opportunities. A genuine interest in growing business from existing clients as well as targeting and attracting new clients is therefore very important. We don't believe in standing still so all our team are encouraged to get out there, raise their profile and network in order to help grow the department and promote their career prospects.

Candidates will be expected to be able to demonstrate at interview that they have:

  • JCT and NEC forms of contract;
  • excellent interpersonal skills;
  • excellent commercial awareness;
  • excellent organisation and time management skills;
  • the ability and willingness to work flexibly and autonomously;
  • a team orientated mindset

We are committed to recruiting the best people to maintain our market leading position and lawyers of most interest to us are those who have the ability to actively develop client relationships and deliver clear, focused and practical advice. In return, the firm prides itself on being able to offer top quality work, excellent career prospects and a healthy work life balance in a supportive working environment.
