THE ROLE
Capsticks has established a team to do defendant clinical negligence
work in Birmingham on behalf of both NHS Trusts and GPs. The
Birmingham team is led by a Birmingham-based Partner and work closely
with Capsticks' other teams in London and Leeds. This is an exciting
opportunity to join a growing team delivering this work in Birmingham
and developing existing relationships with local health care
organisations. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate that
they have a genuine interest in healthcare, who wish to develop their
career in this area of law and are excited by this opportunity.
The Clinical Law Claims Division comprises around 80 fee earners over
three offices (Wimbledon, Leeds and Birmingham). The firm has been a
member of NHS Resolution's panel of lawyers since its inception. It is
ranked number one in the legal directories for defendant clinical
negligence work. Capsticks carries out a wide range of health care
work and you will work closely with teams that provide advice covering
inquests, regulatory matters, public law issues, judicial reviews,
mental health issues and clinical risk management.

SKILL SET
We are seeking a self-motivated, ambitious and experienced Senior
Solicitor or Associate to join our highly regarded and expanding
clinical negligence team. The successful candidate will be expected to
have litigation experience and be well-versed in understanding the
needs of our client base, preferably gained at a NHS Resolution Panel
firm, together with experience of handling and advising on cases
involving complex issues and maximum severity injuries. Experience of
managing claims against GPs is an advantage but not essential. The
role will involve managing a caseload of claims on instructions from
NHS Resolution. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to
work closely with a Partner who will supervise your work and there
will be opportunities for client contact and business development.
