THE TEAM
The Employment division comprises of over 60 fee earners and, as the
UK's leading supplier of employment law services to employers in the
health and social care sectors, carries out work for around 200 NHS
and private healthcare bodies throughout the UK, alongside clients in
all our other major sectors. The division provides legal advice and
training on the full range of employment law issues, supporting
clients from board level to generalist HR practitioners, and has a
reputation for handling the most sensitive and high-profile employment

THE ROLE
The team handles hundreds of Employment Tribunal claims each year,
the majority of which proceed to a full hearing and in many of which
the firm's clients are represented by the team's in-house advocates.
We are looking for an experienced Employment Tribunal Advocate
to represent Respondent clients at Employment Tribunal hearings, from
preliminary case management hearings through to complex, multi-day
final hearings. The candidate should have good client handling skills,
excellent technical employment law knowledge and be able to work
well with other team members. Suitable candidates will be operating at
Senior Solicitor / Barrister level with considerable advocacy expertise.
Capsticks is committed to recruiting the best people to maintain
its status as legal adviser of choice and, whilst previous experience
in the field of healthcare or public sector is strongly preferred, it
is not essential. Candidates will however be expected to be able
to demonstrate at interview that they are self-motivated and
commercially minded, as well as having good interpersonal skills and
being able to work effectively in teams.
