THE ROLE
Capsticks has an established team doing defendant clinical negligence
work in Leeds on behalf of both NHS Trusts and GPs. This is an
exciting opportunity to join a growing team delivering this work in
Leeds and developing existing relationships with health care
organisations. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate that
they have a genuine interest in healthcare, who wish to develop their
career in this area of law and are excited by this opportunity.
The Clinical Law Claims Division comprises around 90 fee earners over
three offices (Wimbledon, Leeds and Birmingham). The firm has been a
member of NHS Resolution's panel of lawyers since its inception. It is
ranked number one in the legal directories for defendant clinical
negligence work. Capsticks carries out a wide range of health care
work and you will work closely with teams that provide advice covering
inquests, regulatory matters, public law issues, judicial reviews,
mental health issues and clinical risk management.

SKILLS SET
We are seeking a self-motivated and ambitious Associate to join our
highly regarded and expanding clinical negligence team. The successful
candidate will be expected to have litigation experience and be able
to demonstrate an interest in defendant clinical negligence work as
well as understanding the needs of our client base. The role will
involve managing a caseload of claims on instructions from NHS
Resolution and assisting other members of the team on higher value or
complex claims involving maximum severity injuries. Successful
candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with a partner
who will supervise your work and there will be opportunities for
client contact and business development.
