THE TEAM
Under the leadership of the Director of Business Development &
Marketing (BD & M), the department provides a broad range of
support to the wider firm across Business Development, Bids,
Marketing, Communications and Events, comprising 15 members in total.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on role in a busy, business development and marketing
team. You will be working alongside the Events Manager to produce a
programme of well-attended events that will raise the profile of the
firm and generate new leads. This will include helping the fee earners
identify their target audience and recommending the best approach in
order to get the maximum value out of the event. The Events Executive
will be responsible for managing events, from conception to delivery,
including attendance on the day and measuring and reporting on the
success of the event afterwards.
This role is a great opportunity to work on a diverse range of events
with exposure to all sectors that the firm works in.
The successful candidate will predominately work closely with the
Events Manager, BD sector leads and Senior Digital Executive as well
as with the wider BD team and partners across the business.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
End to end management of assigned events, including corporate
hospitality, webinars and seminars
End to end management of various sponsorship and exhibition campaigns
Assisting Events Manager with larger event programmes
Working closely with Partners and other stakeholders across the
firm to drive events forward and ensure deadlines are met
Managing event costs and budgets
Ensuring that all events are adequately followed up and follow up
actions documented
Creating and maintaining events and mailing lists on CRM (OnePlace)
Sending invitations via our email marketing platform (Vuture)
Using Twitter and LinkedIn to promote events
Assisting with pre-event set up and registration of guests
Working with a nominated coordinator and Business Development
Managers to help manage our sector Diploma programmes
Staying up to date with events industry trends, technology and innovations
OTHER DUTIES
Any other duties as reasonably requested by either the Senior
Marketing and Communications Manager or the Director of BD & M,
such as providing support on a wide range of projects and contributing
to the general smooth running of the team.
EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate is likely to be an existing Events Executive
- and should have:
Experience as an Events Executive
Competency in the use of all Microsoft Office Suite applications
Confidence in running webinars
The ability to update and maintain a variety of internal databases
Knowledge of venues in major UK cities and other event suppliers
(desirable but not essential)
Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
with an ability to engage at all levels
The ability to communicate professionally at all levels within the
firm and when representing the firm externally
Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritise,
work calmly under pressure to tight deadlines, and handle last
minute changes
Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate that they are:
Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
Proactive and innovative in their approach
Focused on the delivery of a first class service
A team player with who is willing to flex and get involved with a
range of events and campaigns
Willing to travel in the UK, work out of office hours and
occasionally stay overnight at events
Able and willing to learn more about Capsticks' sectors and the
services Capsticks provides
