Capula is looking for a Trading Legal Analyst to join our team in London. This is fantastic opportunity to work in a small team for a leading hedge fund, which provides ample opportunity to learn about trade contracts and agreements, and work with multiple departments. Candidates must have experience in ISDA documentation.

The Role
Capula Investment Management is a global hedge fund manager. The Trading Legal team is part of the wider in-house legal function at Capula Investment Management.

The role will be to assist the Trading Legal team in supporting Capula trading functions, including assisting with new launches, projects, regulatory compliance matters and process management.

The role will be to manage various internal processes including confirmations and executions processes. The ideal candidate will have prior experience of trading agreements, in particular the ISDA framework, and will be proactive and diligent in performing all tasks assigned.

This is a rare opportunity for to join a top tier hedge fund in-house legal team specialising in derivatives and trading legal matters, and to acquire valuable experience of the industry whilst further developing legal, commercial and communication skills.

Specific responsibilities

  • Liaising with internal teams, including front-office, business management, operations, compliance and middle-office on a variety of strategic initiatives.
  • Assisting with the review, drafting and negotiation of certain trading agreements, including ISDA, Repo, Prime Brokerage and a variety of other documentation.
  • Management and coordination of the trading agreement execution process, including the role of primary liaison with the board of directors and counterparties. Ownership of negotiation tracking and book of work maintenance.
  • Maintenance of documentation databases and lists.
  • Manage the OTC confirmations process, including initial reviews and negotiations. Effective collaboration with other teams is essential.
  • Assist with projects as required

Education and experience

  • Strong academics degree educated
  • Legally trained or Some prior paralegal experience (ideally in a bank or a derivatives or trading legal team) is preferred but not absolutely required
  • Great communication skills
