The Team

The role will be working in the employers
and public liability team within the Casualty region of the firm.
The team deals with a wide variety of work for major insurers and
private nominations. The work is complex and often involves
representing household names.
The Role
The ideal candidate will be a talented
Litigation Executive/Junior Assoicate who has prior experience of
handling an EL/PL caseload of fast track files, working on behalf of
the major insurance firms. We will consider up to Junior Associate/
Chartered Legal Executive level for this position.
The team offers a supportive environment
and a hybrid working week with 2 days in our new Manchester office
and 3 days working from home.
Key Responsibilities
Handling a caseload of employers and
public liability claims from inception through to closure, under supervision.
Ability to make early liability
assessments on cases.
Ability to consider and reach
conclusions on liability.
Ability to assess quantum.
Drafting pleadings,reporting to clients, drafting witness
statements, preparing instructions to counsel, experts and
attending in conference and trials.
Timely completion of MI.
Practice a proactive approach to case
assessment and settlement.
Conducting research and keeping up to
date with legal and industry practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience of running a caseload
including experience of determining liability.
Experience of working within an
employer's and public liability team.
Previous experience of Defendant
personal injury litigation.
A high level of accuracy and attention
to detail.
The ability to meet deadlines and work
efficiently and effectively.
A professional manner with the ability
to build relationships internally and externally.
Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
Excellent academic background.
