Description

About the role

This opportunity involves working directly for John Moran, who is a pre-eminent insurance practitioner and has a strong focus on innovation, team culture and the personal development of all staff. His team advises on the most complex and high-profile matters from litigation arising from the Royal Commission, through to significant D&O multi-party proceedings and professional indemnity matters for professionals across various industries. The role will also involve working with other members of the team including Senior Associates and Special Counsel.

Our Brisbane office currently has opportunities available for intelligent, ambitious and motivated lawyers ideally with minimum 4 years post qualification experience to join our highly regarded insurance team as the practice continues to grow.

The role includes handling complex financial lines, professional indemnity, class actions and director and officers (D&O) matters, both from a defence and coverage perspective. The role will also involve assisting one of the senior lawyers in relation to construction and engineering professional indemnity disputes as well as some commercial litigation matters. This is a strong area of growth for our business. Our clients typically include large insurers (local and international), Lloyd's syndicates, and their insureds.

The nature and size of the team will mean that you will be heavily involved in all aspects of matters. Within the supportive environment, this allows you the autonomy and development opportunity to drive and make a significant contribution to the matter outcome. Further, you will be encouraged to foster and generate client relationships and will have the opportunity to engage in business development frequently.

These roles will be well suited to people who are looking to expand their knowledge, and are ambitious and looking to progress to Senior Associate.
