The Team

The central projects and change team at Clyde & Co have started on an exciting journey since its inception six months ago and are working to realise the firm's appetite for greater coordination and strategic focus across our current and future projects portfolio globally. This role plays a key part in continuing to establish credible relationships for the team across other areas of the business and will run requirements gathering and people engagement activities on high-profile programmes.

Key Responsibilities

The role will gather and understand business requirements and ideas; consistently translate ideas and requirements into clearly articulated (and standard) definitions / mandates for projects; and ensure that approved projects remain on track to meet our requirements, align with strategy and realise the expected value.

Strong business analysis skills (e.g. the ability to map and capture / define processes) are therefore essential.

The role will help to manage the intake process for new operational change (be it projects or other initiatives), ensuring that it is effective and fully embedded in the business.

In addition, it will work with the Global Head of Operational Projects & Change, Project Management Office and the Project Managers to continue building a structured and best practice approach to business analysis.

Duties include:

  • Elicit and manage business requirements across a variety of significant business-led operational projects and programmes.
  • Assist with the production of business cases, e.g. identifying costs, benefits, impacts and risks.
  • Produce and maintain clear, quality documentation that accurately, comprehensively and consistently captures and articulates requirements, for example business requirements definitions, requirements catalogues and process maps.
  • Interface with our technical teams to ensure that technical solutions will meet business requirements and that the expected benefits and value are captured, understood, tracked and realised.
  • Design, prepare and facilitate stakeholder workshops.
  • Develop key relationships within business services departments and across the firm to understand and improve the existing services and business processes.
  • Maintain and develop the intake process for new operational change (be it projects or other initiatives), ensuring that it is effective and fully embedded in the business.
  • Work with the Business Analysts, Project Managers and central Project Management Office to establish a standard approach to business analysis as part of the firm's project management methodology.
  • Work with service delivery teams to capture and direct service improvements changes that arise during day to day support operations.
  • Work with trainers to ensure that the change impact is well understood and feeds into the training approach.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a comparable role in a professional environment.
  • Professionally recognised qualifications in relation to business analysis or project management (e.g. ISEB, PRINCE2)
  • Excellent knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques, including document analysis, process mapping, structured questioning, gap analysis and mind mapping, are essential.
  • Excellent engagement skills, including interviewing, facilitating, mediating and presenting, are essential.
  • Experience of building business cases, including identifying and categorising costs and benefits and identifying and shortlisting options for business change, is essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and analysis skills are essential.
  • Solid, practical understanding of project management techniques, methods and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio is essential.
  • Experience of using requirements management tools and systems is beneficial.
  • Experience of legal processes and systems in a similar environment is desirable.
