We are seeking a motivated Associate with experience working in
defendant private practice. Prior experience in litigation, public
liability and coverage is essential. You will be expected to be able
to manage casualty files from initial coverage instructions through
the PIPA and litigated phase. To apply you will need to demonstrate
that you have a record of strong, consistent performance throughout
your career within these areas of the law.
The team has a strong focus on culture and seeks to work
collaboratively wherever possible. The team undertakes a broad range
of interesting and complex coverage and defence matters, and the
senior members of the team are committed to developing lawyers in its
junior ranks to fine tune their existing skill set and accelerate
their career progression.
About You
You will be an Associate with at least 3 to 4 years PAE and the
following competencies:
a solid general insurance background gained from a top tier
private practice environment from either Australia or overseas;
precise, clear drafting skills;
strong academics, self-driven, a 'can do' approach, with excellent
verbal and written communications skills;
strong time management skills and the ability to effectively
manage competing priorities in order to meet deliverables to a very
high standard;
demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as the
ability to work independently;
the ability to lead, delegate and for all candidates, to foster a
positive team environment; and
a willingness to assist senior lawyers and the team more generally
with business development endeavours.
