About the role
Our Financial Lines / Director's & Officer's practice in Sydney
currently has an exciting opportunity available for an intelligent and
motivated Associate with minimum 4 years post qualification experience
as this busy practice continues to grow.
Handling complex matters across financial lines, professional
indemnity, construction and engineering, director & officers
(D&O), and warranty & indemnity (W&I). The team provide
both coverage and dispute resolution services to corporate and
commercial clients locally, nationally and internationally.
The opportunity involves working directly for Partner Jacques Jacobs,
listed as a Next Generation Partner by Legal 500 and as a
Leading Professional Indemnity lawyer by Doyle's Guide. You will work
on market leading matters within a closeknit team of highly respected lawyers.
Key skills and experience
You will be an established lawyer (4+ years' PQE) qualified in
Australia, New Zealand, and/or England & Wales, with the following
core competencies:
Strong general insurance litigation, financial lines, professional
indemnity, and director and officers (D&O) experience is preferred.
A strong private practice background where you have ideally had
exposure to some or all of the types of matters detailed above.
Strong academic credentials, self-driven with excellent verbal and
written communications skills.
Firmly established time management skills and ability to manage
competing priorities effectively.

Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, as well as the
ability to work independently.
Commercial awareness and confidence in building a rapport with
clients to gain a better understanding of their business' needs and
with the assistance of the partner, actively developing these client relationships.
An ability to lead, delegate and foster a positive team atmosphere.
