Westlink Partnership, currently has an exciting opportunity for a 1-2
PQE Associate lawyer in our Chongqing office.
We are seeking an intelligent and highly motivated lawyer to join our
Energy, Marine, Natural Resources and Insurance practice led by
Partner, Ik
Wei Chong, and working with Partner Victor
Yang. Ik Wei is recommended and recognised by various legal
directories including Legal 500 Asia Pacific, Chambers Asia Pacific
and Legal Media Group's Guide to Leading Practitioners (China) as one
of the leading individuals for shipping, insurance and dispute
resolution work. Victor is ranked in Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2020- 2024
as a Next Generation Partner / Recommended Lawyer. His team is ranked
as tier 1 insurance lawyers by various legal directories.
This is a unique role which will offer exposure in handling general
corporate work and assisting other senior lawyer colleagues in due course.
Key responsibilities
Based in Chongqing but working with the team in Shanghai, Beijing
and other international offices;
The successful candidate will have considerable insurance
experience, both contentious and non-contentious experience; mainly
handing litigation matters (transportation and logistics background
ideal but not essential);
Strong communication skills with clients and team members;
Firmly established time management skills and ability to manage
competing priorities effectively;
Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills;
Other tasks required by the Supervisor.
Candidate Profile
1-2 years of post-qualification experience;
Experience working with leading Chinese or international law firms;
Overseas LLM (preferred);
Must hold a current Chinese practicing certificate which will be
registered with Chongqing Bureau of Justice;
Native Chinese (written & verbal) and fluent English skill is
a requirement. (both verbal and written English).
