The Chicago office of Clyde & Co specializes in complex insurance
coverage disputes. The office has an opportunity for a first-year
associate seeking a career in litigation. This practice represents
domestic and international insurers in complex, high value, high
profile coverage litigation and bad faith cases, providing primary,
excess and reinsurance coverage to municipalities, school districts,
churches and other public and private entities. Working with our
experienced attorneys, you will gain hands-on experience and
litigation skills as part of a busy and energetic team.
This role offers a flexible/hybrid work schedule and would be open to
candidates located in Chicago.
Responsibilities
Analyze insurance policies, draft coverage opinions and provide
coverage advice and recommendations for clients;
Conduct complex and rigorous legal research and analysis, and
draft memoranda;
Draft and review pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery, motions with
supporting briefs and other legal correspondence;
Attending depositions, hearings and mediations as required.
Education and Experience Required
JD 2024 (or December 2023)
Sitting for the Illinois Bar Exam in July 2024 (or sat for the
Illinois Bar Exam in February 2024)
Excellent academic credentials
Moot Court or Litigation Skills training a plus
Law Review or Journal experience a plus

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly
