The Team

Clyde & Co's Employment team provides support to clients on all aspects of employment law including: litigation relating to discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, unlawful deduction of wages and other claims in the employment tribunal and relating to breach of contract and business protection claims in the High Court; advising corporate clients on all day to day people related issues including preparing contracts and policies, disciplinary, grievance and capability issues, large scale restructuring projects and service provision changes involving TUPE; advising businesses and individuals on the employment aspects of corporate transactions; and cross border work involving sourcing and coordinating international advice from around the globe and cross border transactions.

Clyde & Co currently supports a variety of high-profile clients across varying sectors including insurance, financial services, professional services, projects and construction, transportation, aviation, marine, retail, education and energy.

The Role

Our Employment team are ideally looking for a paralegal to join their team who can manage a caseload of both contentious and non-contentious matters relating to varying employment legislation and rights and obligations.

  • Working on large document based projects such as disclosure and responses to data subject access requests
  • Supporting the fee earners on day to day file management
  • Preparing court bundles
  • Drafting letters of instruction, requests, Instructions to Counsel
  • Preparing briefing notes, action plans, file notes and attendance notes
  • Reviewing reports and statements and other relevant documents
  • Drafting and proof reading documents
  • Conducting research and keeping up to date with legal and industry practices
  • Managing day to day deadlines with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ensure files and spreadsheets are maintained and updated
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail skills
  • Adhoc tasks as required

Essential Skills & Experience

We are looking for a paralegal to add to our team who would be attracted by the opportunity to work for a leading employment department in a private practice law firm in the UK working on a range of non-contentious and contentious matters who enjoys team work and working on substantial projects that could last for weeks at a time.
